Mental District is a heavy-thrash metal band from Craiova, Romania. The band was founded in 2017 by Mihai Cazacu (guitar), Cristian Popescu (bass), Mihnea Stancescu (drums), Adrian Cȋmpeanu (vocal) and Cristian Avram (guitar). The musical style, which the band members approach, can be described by the influences of Metallica and Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Dio, Testament, Kreator and others by melodic and fast solo interventions and by the clear but strong voice that accompanies attractive bass and percussion scores. The themes of the lyrics come from a rich inspirational palette, born from mystical visions or social problems.

The first studio album entitled BACK TO LIFE was released in 2022. The album contains 8 tracks and was recorded at Mental District studio, mixed and mastered at Revenant Sound Studios in Los Angeles, California by Will Salazar.

The album's title track is a classic "feel-good" heavy metal track. The most important thing for us, above the messages we wanted to convey, was to make music that we love and that you can nod your head to and feel good about.

"Back to life" is like a mantra and symbolizes resilience; it's what you tell yourself when life throws more weight at you than you can handle and yet you hold your head up and scream at the top of your lungs, because you know you're not alone, because you know you've been through this before, and at the end of the day, you open a bottle of beer at sunset and everything is ok
